The First WINFOCUS Course Manual
Three‑City POCUS Collaboration

WINFOCUS Movement in Asia
After the inaugural WINFOCUS Basic Level 1 Ultrasound Life Support course in Singapore in 2008, the training program expanded to multiple countries, with key cities such as Hong Kong and Bangkok adopting the WINFOCUS POCUS methodology. These three cities formed an alliance, supporting one another through shared training materials, instructor support, and cross‑pollination of ideas.

The First WINFOCUS Course Manual
By 2011 the collaboration had identified the need for a common syllabus and training materials. Singapore proposed a course manual, triggering rapid cooperation: between January and May a 238‑page manual was produced, aligned with the WINFOCUS syllabus then used for a two‑day ultrasound workshop — the first WINFOCUS course manual ever written. It was distributed to all WINFOCUS USLS participants in the partner cities and remained in circulation until 2014. A rewrite was discussed in 2015, but evolving training priorities prevented completion. Nonetheless, the manual was a significant and commendable achievement by the passionate POCUS communities involved.
